Researchers lunch about integration and the Global Development Goals

Lecture, Meeting, Workshop

Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development, GMV and Centre on Global Migration (CGM) invites researchers and PhD students at Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg to discuss research on integration and how it can contribute to reaching the Global Development Goals.

In the introductory declaration of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development it is recognized that migrants have a positive contribution for inclusive growth and sustainable development. Although the word integration is not officially used it is clear that a successful integration is necessary for achieving several of the goals, not the least goal 10 about reduced inequalities. Sub target 10.2 states that we shall:
"by 2030 empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status.¿
To reach this goal also correlates to how well me manage to achieve a good health and wellbeing (goal 3), quality education (goal 4) and decent working conditions (goal 8).

Centre on Global Migration (CGM) is an interdisciplinary research centre with participants from all faculties at the University of Gothenburg. CGM aims to serve as a hub for collaboration between researchers, professionals and civil society, and to foster interdisciplinary research on migration and integration. Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development, GMV aims to create collaboration between and within Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg and to generate and utilize knowledge about sustainable development.

The purpose of this lunch is to create new contacts between researchers from different disciplines and to discuss future research collaboration on integration and sustainable development.

Sign up here no later than May 25 .
